The Lord gave me a vision about how light affects darkness. At the beginning of this vision, all I could see was a room without windows, and the inside of the room was completely dark. Then the Lord asked me to tell Him what I could see. I answered, “I see a room that is completely dark.”
Suddenly, one small, lit candle appeared in the center of the room, and the Lord again asked me what I could see. So I answered, “I see one lit candle shining in the center of the room.” Then He asked me to describe what effect the lit candle had on the room. I thought about it for a moment and then answered, “That one small light is now illuminating most of the room. There is no longer any darkness anywhere near the candle, though there is still some darkness in the furthest corners of the room.”
After the Lord showed me this vision He said, “Do not be afraid of the darkness because light always exposes and dispels darkness. The darkness that is in the world can never overcome or extinguish My light. As the world becomes darker, it will only cause My light to shine brighter.”
Jesus is the light of the world, so when you belong to Jesus, His light lives in you. However, even if you belong to Jesus, you may still have some darkness lurking in the corners of your life. The Lord once told me that, “Nothing escapes His notice, nothing escapes His gaze, and nothing escapes His hand. Therefore, if there is any darkness within you, the light of Jesus Christ will expose it.
A few weeks after the Lord gave me this vision, He gave me the following word:
“The Son is rising! The Son is rising! As My light shines upon the earth, it will illuminate and expose every place of darkness hidden in the souls of mankind. This shining has now begun. People must choose whether they will turn their face toward the light and allow Me to burn away the darkness, or whether they will turn away from the light because they don’t want to face up to the darkness that is within them. Now is the time to choose. My light has already begun to shine. If people choose to stand and face My light, I will expose and burn away all that is dark within them. Then, My glory will be able to rise upon them. If they do not face the light, they will be choosing to remain in darkness, and then the darkness will be able to overtake them. It is one or the other; choose NOW!”
I pray that people everywhere will turn their face toward the Son of God and cry out,
“SHINE, JESUS SHINE!”
In the midst of the darkness, shining
Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us
Set us free by the truth you now bring us
Shine on me, shine on me
From the shadows into your radiance
By the blood I may enter your brightness
Search me, try me, consume all my darkness
Shine on me, shine on me
So our faces display your likeness
Ever changing from glory to glory
Mirrored here may our lives tell your story
Shine on me, shine on me
Fill this land with the Father’s glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze
Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth your word
Lord, and let there be light!
Scripture Verses:
Matthew 6:22, “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!”
Psalm 139: 7-12, “Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, ‘Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,’ even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.”
Isaiah 60: 1-3, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
